Quick Start Guide: Setting Up Your Store

Welcome to Munim POS! This guide walks you through setting up your retail store in under 5 minutes so you can begin scanning barcodes and generating GST-compliant bills immediately.

Cloud Convenience

Munim POS is 100% cloud-based. You do not need to install local databases or servers. All you need is a web browser (Chrome, Edge, or Safari) on any Windows PC, Mac, iPad, or Android POS device.

Step 1: Business Profile & Tax Information

Navigate to Settings → Business Settings in your top navigation menu:

Business Name: Enter your registered trade or store name (e.g. Munim Supermarket & Lifestyle).
Currency: Set currency to Indian Rupee (₹). Set currency symbol placement to Before Amount.
Timezone: Select Asia/Kolkata (GMT +5:30).
Financial Year Start: Select 1st April for standard Indian accounting compliance.
Tax & GST: Enter your 15-digit GSTIN (e.g. 27AAAAA0000A1Z5). Enable tax calculations on billing.

Step 2: Business Locations & Outlets

Go to Settings → Business Locations:

Each physical store, mall counter, or central warehouse is configured as an independent Location. This allows you to track individual store sales, cash registers, and stock levels separately while maintaining centralized ownership.

Click Add Location.
Provide Location Name, City, State, Landmark, and Contact Phone.
Assign default invoice scheme (e.g., STORE1-2026/0001).

Step 3: Hardware & Thermal Printer Setup

Go to Settings → Receipt Printers:

Browser Printing: Works out of the box with zero drivers for standard 2-inch (58mm) and 3-inch (80mm) thermal printers (TVS, Epson, NGX, Posiflex).
Network / USB Printing: For direct thermal printing without print dialog prompts, configure your printer IP or USB port under Printer Settings.
Barcode Scanner: Plug any 1D or 2D USB/Wireless barcode scanner into your computer. No driver installation required.
